Today’s Show and Tell is Margaret from Fierce Beauty and Fashion!

To me, being Curvy.Confident.Chic means learning how to appreciate yourself and not be afraid of what you love.

I’ve never been too much of a fashionista coming up because I felt like I didn’t fit the media’s mold of what being fashionable was. It was frustrating to try to be on trend or wear the latest when it just doesn’t come in your size!

As I got older, I learned to accept me for me (the curves, the “girls” and all!) and with that came my love of fashion with all the creativity it brings.

Fashion is what you make it and at the end of the day, clothes should fit you – you shouldn’t have to fit into the clothes. When you start dressing for you, your body, and your personality it’s impossible not to be curvy, confident, and chic!

Today’s Show and Tell: Franceta of Frantic Dreams

To me, Curvy.Confident.Chic means total and ultimate freedom, not just in fashion but in life.

No rules, limitations or guidelines, just you, marching to the beat of your own drum. Have you ever been told you couldn’t do or wear something and then proved that wrong? It feels amazing to defy rules!

I was told I couldn’t wear miniskirts, crop tops, sheer fabrics, spandex or heels… Because I was told “you can’t”, I did. Now, imagine if you applied this to everything you do, it would be the definition of Curvy.Confident.Chic.

Though I am chic, and I’m DEFIANTLY confident, I don’t identify myself as curvy, I’m just a woman. We come in all shapes and sizes and not one shape or size is the “right” one. Though I am technically curvy, my curves will never define me, they are just a part of my anatomy. I found that once you cage yourself into one category, it gives others the right to do the same, and I am just not the type of girl to be caged if you get what I’m saying, lol.

I love her confidence and moxie! How fierce is she???

Today’s Show and Tell: SheRea from My Thrifted Closet

What does Curvy.Confident.Chic mean to me?

When I look through magazines or watch television, I rarely see young women like me. They are usually the best friend, confidant, and other similar roles. Very often, these women are not portrayed as the beautiful, sexy, and vivacious women that they undoubtedly are.

However, there comes a time in a woman’s life when she has to throw away the images of the “perfect and ideal body” that is etched in the world’s consciousness and create her own image and write her own story. Being curvy and confident is about looking in the mirror and loving who AND what you see.

My curves are nothing for which I am ashamed. I embrace them and I adorn them with beautiful clothes. It’s not about competing with my smaller friends or trying to be the hottest thing walking. It’s about being myself, smiling for no reason at all, and allowing the world to see my light. This way, they too will look at me and not be ashamed. I am beautiful and no one can tell me otherwise.

Live. Laugh. Love Thrift.

Today’s Show and Tell: Jen from Literal Gemini

What does Curvy Confident Chic mean to me?

It means accepting yourself, learning to love yourself and learning how to celebrate yourself in all your glory. It’s funny but when I was thinner, I wasn’t as confident in myself as I am now.Before I was always worried about whether I looked fat in something. I no longer worry about that, I just love myself and the shape Im in. I enjoy dressing up and celebrating myself. Because if I can’t love myself how in the world can I expect anyone else to.

I actually enjoy my curves, and when someone compliments me, I don’t think they are just being nice, I actually believe them. It is an amazing feeling I wish I lot of other curvy women out there could feel.

Today’s Show and Tell: Sassy Sarah from Pasazz

Being Curvy.Confident.Chic. to me means loving your body and knowing how to dress to flatter your curves. My style varies greatly depending on my mood, and of course the occasion. Though in general I love girly clothes, and absolutely love colors (I rarely wear black!). Also, I must say that I am a dress kind a gal. On a night out give me a dress over a pair of jeans any time.

However recently I have become totally in love with my pairs of jeggings ever since I discovered the wonders of jeggings last year! They are super comfy, very versatile, and I love the fact that I can still show off my legs with them.

I am also slightly obsessed with fun and funky shoes; I’m constantly searching for new styles I can buy, my latest addition being a funky blue, peep toe pump style, from Evans. I think a bold pair of shoes can make any boring outfit a complete winner.

So to me being Curvy.Confident.Chic means appreciating your body, loving it, and understanding how to dress to flatter it as much as you can. We’ve only got one life, and we should live it embracing the body we have been blessed with, instead of trying to change it!

Today’s Show and Tell: Nisa

I am a chemistry graduate student, living in Texas. Because of what I study, I am required to wear very basic clothing that usually gets dirty by the end of the day. Before graduate school, I was a very avid fashionista and loved to dress up to go anywhere. Since I am unable to express myself at school, I let my fashionista out during the weekends and at nights. It’s been an interesting balance!

To me, Curvy. Confident. Chic. means being able to express yourself without being afraid of what people think. Until recently, fat girls have gotten a bad rap with the fashion industry. Thankfully it is now a lot easier to find flattering, non-matronly plus-size clothes! No matter where your clothes came from, the attitude with which you wear them will dictate how you are perceived.

I am a very confident girl and hope that a lot of other curvy ladies find their inner diva and let her shine. Who cares what other people think! Wear what you want, express how yourself how you want. That’s always been my mantra in life!

Today’s Show and Tell: Moe from Plus She

I have had to work in hospital whites and I have had to work in the black suit. Now that I work at home I can choose my own uniform on any given day. I choose to be fashionably comfortable. But I still like the opportunity to dress up from time to time!

I’ve never been a girlie girl and I haven’t always been a confident chic. I think the most important thing about being a Curvy.Confident.Chic is how you carry yourself regardless of the clothes on your back, where they came from or how much you paid for them.

If you don’t feel like a Curvy.Confident.Chic the whole world doesn’t need to know about it. I think you should fake it until one day you wake up and realize you haven’t been faking it for some time. It is incredibly sweet to look in the mirror and see confidence staring back at you. It’s even sweeter still when you wonder what all the fuss was about.
