So while searching for my next Gotta Have It piece, I stumbled upon something that made me say hrmm…

These Forever 21 “Flounced Geo Shorts”

For me, it’s a skort. But hey! I am not sure if I love them or hate them, but the possibilities to rock these puppies leaves me on the fence, just a bit… I mean, I haven’t worn a skort in like…. YEARS- okay? Maybe 8^th or 9^th grade? LORD… But pairing these with this season’s neon colors? In this Cali heat? Oh yes…

So when I saw these, you must now understand my flashback! Okay, okay… as I pretend of the many ways that this could pop off, I had to pose this question to you. I think I am too old for a skort comeback, but I think they are cute though… Who knows? This is why I am posing this to you:

Living in Sunny California, life has a way of being and getting quite easy breezy and laid back. And because of this, you will find quite a few designer tee shirt lines based in California that reflect this way of life. One of those brands is the label Splendid.

Known for its amazing tees, Splendid was founded in 2002 by Moise Emquies after a tireless search for THE prefect TEE. That they did! Perfecting the blend of Supima cotton and Micro Modal, Splendid is the lifestyle collection driven to delivering effortless style! See? Plus Size Lingerie: Eveden AW 12-13 Launch, UK.

Last week in London, The Eveden Lingerie Group held one of the greatest product launches I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending. Held at the Swarovski Crystallized Cafe, the space was transformed into a stunning showroom, where Lingerie and Swimwear held centre stage. The Eveden Group is a Lingerie powerhouse, holding brands including Elomi, Freya, Fauve, Fantasie and Goddess under its umbrella. I, myself, am an Elomi girl owning both sports bras and every day bras from the brand. I was VERY keen to see what they would be offering for the upcoming season.

What an impressive showing . Not only were the pieces stunning – but the underwear was showcased on both slender and curvy mannequins and models. There were crystals scattered amongst the lingerie, a Swarovski couch and even a bra and pant set captured within an Ice Sculpture! While most of the brands run to a GG cup, some of them (including Elomi, Fantasie and Freya) run right up to a K cup. For me, I was captivated by the stunning pieces on show, but, true to form, it was Elomi that managed to keep my heart. Pretty much ALL of Elomi’s pieces were on curved mannequins, and the brand had brought along Alex, a curvy model – to give us a live view of the lingerie on curves with fuller breasts and hips. Wow.

The last added bonus of the day – was that anyone in attendance was welcome to get a bra fitting with the professional fitters on hand. I was fitted in the Freya “Lauren” Bra and have gone from a 40G to a 36HH. THAT is quite a difference! All in all, it was a great launch and left me really excited that curvy lingerie is fitting better, supporting well and keeping sexy.

I love a great bikini. Seriously! I especially love the skirted ones! So when I received an invite to attend the launch of Becca Etc’s Swimwear launch hosted by Plus Model Magazine, I was beyond elated and intrigued, especially since research had me gasping at Tara Lynn looking like fire in the collection!

*BUYERS PLEASE NOTE: We want MORE than BLACK, Slimming, One Pice duds. Give us the BOLD colors, the teals, corals, blues, that this collection has to offer! We dont mind spending a little bit more for both quality and fashion! OKAY????

But not only is the fashion AND function of this collection that has me excited, but the KNOWLEDGE and EXPERTISE behind the collection that gives me great comfort in knowing I will be both fashionable and supported! Let me tell you about Becca Etc!

No stranger to the swimwear scene, designer Rebecca Virtue, a native Californian, creates her namesake BECCA® by Rebecca Virtue and BECCA ETC collections. After designing swimwear for 10 years for various designer labels, Rebecca debuted her signature collection in 2000 and was most recently featured in the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. And she has done this all under the infamous Lunada Bay Corporation!

WHO? You ask?

While you may not know Lunada Bay by name, chances are you have worn their swimsuits many times over!

Remember Mega Swimwear brand OP? Beginning their business in 1980 as Ocean Pacific Beachwear (OP Sunwear’s licensee), Lunada Bay quickly began building a reputation for excellence. Acquiring the Mossimo Swim license in 1989, Lunada Bay developed the brand into one of the most-recognized labels within the swimwear industry. In addition to its current Mossimo business, Lunada Bay is currently the exclusive swimwear licensee for Betsey Johnson, Lucky Brand, and Bisou Bisou!

For the presentation, the Becca Etc team paraded out the fabulous collections, giving us all a touch and feel of the product and direction! Afterwards, we all had a gander and mini tour of the facilities and try on session!

Can I just say that the bikini I played in gave me MAY-JOR boob action in a GREAT WAY!?! I cannot wait to play in the collection at a pool or beach soon! I must note that for its launch collection, they offer sizes in a 0X to 2X with 3X coming soon! (I did press them about this!!!)

Oh and here is what I wore to the event!

LOL A Bold Yellow DKNY Dress from yearrrssss ago (At least five years ago!) paired with my new Report Red Kamille Wedges!

Yeah, so as much as I talk and have talked about wearing separates, I do need me a good dress. The bolder, the brighter, the better!

Right?

So when I found this playful one, I smiled. The possibilities with this one were plentiful! For errands, a day event, or just casually cute, I could def give a spin or two or three in this Abstract Shift Dress from TBAGS Los Angeles.

Have you been online over at Salon Z at Saks? Their contemporary collection is a bit refreshing! I also really love how they style the items, as they can look completely different on other sites!

But back to this dress…

Are you a fan of color and print? Have you shied away because of the rules you have read nad heard over the years?

Eh, throw them out the door!

Show some Leg, wear some color, and have some fun! I know I will be making this one mines in 2.5 seconds!

I am on the hunt for tops. Playful, sweet, funky, and bold ones. Interestingly enough, I actually have this top in a hot pink color, but I definitely wouldn’t mind rocking this top for the spring/summer season! Especially with a pop of color? Royal blue short OR jeans; kelly green bottoms, or even a mini skirt!

Yes, I am sure you are now familiar with my love for Rachel Pally and her White Label Collection, but this number here is to be had at Nordstrom! It is the Liu Top!

See I actually have been challenging myself to step away from my maxis- although I still will rock a fair share of them, but I have quite a few pair of bottoms that are begging for fun tops and I think this will do my closet quite nicely!

How many of you have challenged yourself to step out of your box? I am really working on my personal challenge for more mix and match separates! But dresses are sooo easy for me! LOL
