So, a few weeks ago, I shared with you that I was doing a challenge: To take better care of me. To help me along this journey, I signed up for the Special K Challenge, but not to lose weight…. To learn how to eat more.
This was a hard challenge, being that I work from home and easily get lost in the internets for times on end… HOWEVER, I must say, this was an amazing step for me into taking better care of me.
See, there is a history of Thyroid issues in my family. I knew that I was highly susceptible to this being an issue for me. In addition to the fact that I barely eat, well… changes needed to be had.

So, as I went through my daily struggle of remembering to eat, I was really grateful to the Special K challenge for helping me make those mental changes and bringing awareness to me. I mean, now as I go throughout my day, I am more aware of the time, more aware of the fact that I need to eat, haven’t eaten, or should eat. More so than I have been in a while.
With the help of my protein shakes and cereal (thanks to the amazingly HOT heat), I have been able to make better steps into change. Now, I am not naive… I understand that in order to build a great habit, I have to do it at least 21 times… BUT, I am making my changes in baby steps…
After all, my goal is not to lose weight, but to gain a better sense of me and my nutritional habits…
I love eating cereal. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and with the many flavors that Special K had, this was easy! I loved the almond flavor, the strawberries, and the yogurt flavors in the cereal and I killed the chocolate protein shakes (which were my best-and most realistic options, in the am!).
This for me, is only the beginning of my change and my challenge! But I thought I would open up a bit and share with you where I was at with this challenge and how I plan on taking better care of me!
