Spring 2011 Plus Size Trends: Luxe Lace

Spring 2011 Plus Size Trends- Lace

Simply Be Lace Vest

Femininity at its core, reminiscent of the tender sweetness of our childhood, ladylike tendencies are all images that dance through my head when I think of lace- however for Spring of 2011, the thoughts of lace have  grown up to a more sophisticated, demure, and sensual playground- and I like it!

Pushing the envelope with lace is flirty, fun, and refreshing in head-to-toe delights for Spring. Rather than being an accent, the lace is the focal point… or main feature- for that matter.

Spring 2011 Plus Size Trends- Lace

Key Looks:

In both dresses and skirts! While you may have seen the bold and daring Fashionistas rocking their lace without a slip… I suggest for a strategically placed slip or dress with it lined in all the right places… I personally am not a fan of seeing someone’s chonies… lol

Head to toe lace gowns, maxis dresses and skirts are what I secretly crave! When it somces to lace, toss the ideas of the sweet and delicate lace. Opt for vintage inspirations- more substantial and heavier of a fabric- especially to cover and wear nicely over your ample curves.

Are you a fan of lace?

Would you make an exception to wear this trend?

I know I will!

We love the look of lace – and agree with Marie keep it feminine and shophiscated by layering it over a slip, cami or swimsuit. Essence magazine this month even suggests extending your seasonal wardrobe by wearing your swimsuit as a body suit or if it’s a two piece (a cami). Look at this gorgeous lace tunic from AlwaysForMe.com. http://www.alwaysforme.com/plus-size-cover-up-16831w.html

Yes I am a fan of lace! What girly girl isn’t? Lace is classy, sexy and sophisticated all at the same time. I love how it can be dressed up or down. I have this vintage lace dress with lace sleeves cut A line with like a bell shaped ruffle at the bottom and it is just gorgeous.

Arent you the girly girl!!! For me, I like to roughen it up a bit and contrast it with something unexpected and hard… lol…

I loooove lace! it’s so feminine, but your can edge it up too. I’m actually a minority among my friends for that fact, but I don’t care!
