Today’s Show and Tell: Nisa
I am a chemistry graduate student, living in Texas. Because of what I study, I am required to wear very basic clothing that usually gets dirty by the end of the day. Before graduate school, I was a very avid fashionista and loved to dress up to go anywhere. Since I am unable to express myself at school, I let my fashionista out during the weekends and at nights. It’s been an interesting balance!
To me, Curvy. Confident. Chic. means being able to express yourself without being afraid of what people think. Until recently, fat girls have gotten a bad rap with the fashion industry. Thankfully it is now a lot easier to find flattering, non-matronly plus-size clothes! No matter where your clothes came from, the attitude with which you wear them will dictate how you are perceived.
I am a very confident girl and hope that a lot of other curvy ladies find their inner diva and let her shine. Who cares what other people think! Wear what you want, express how yourself how you want. That’s always been my mantra in life!
