Huge comes to an abrupt END

Huge Television Show

According to TVSquad.com, Huge is done.  The show that starred Nikki Blonsky and Haley Hasselhoff is over. The last episode aired on August 30 to what I think are pretty OK numbers. TVSquad says that the show, about life at a weight-loss camp, received steadily declining numbers during its short but sweet ten episodes on TV.

The last of ‘Huge”s 10 episodes aired on Aug. 30 to only 1.45 million viewers, half as many as its lead-in, ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager,’ according to TV By the Numbers.

I’m really sad to see a show like this go. It was so uplifting and inspirational for so many people. I know Huge’s viewers will be very upset about this, but what can you say? I’m surprised it and other shows like it have lasted as long as they have. I feel like the minute a show about a minority group has one mistake or problem, it is off the air.

**Update**

Jezebel announced today that there is a petition to save HUGE! If you are a fan and want to see the return of this show, then please take action!

It`s really a bad time. I think if it had debuted in the spring or during the summer it would have done better. There is just so much good competition in the fall.

I have to admit that i was excited about the show when it first started but kinda lost interest after the first 5 episodes. I support the topic of the show (being fat) but something in the plot was missing for me…
