As a reader of the Curvy Fashionista, I wanted to share with you why!!!

Passport? Check. Passion for Fashion? Check. Avid twitter and Facebook following? Double check. The wherewithal to write an engaging and energetic up-to-the-minute post about a once in a lifetime event? CHECK!
My name is Marie Denee, and I fashion the blog, The Curvy Fashionista. A fashion blog for the discerning and forward Curvy.Confident.Chic. plus size woman who has an extreme passion for fashion! Since beginning my writing career, I unearth, excavate, and reveal the latest fashion finds and deliver them in a pretty little package to my readers.

As a military brat, I have been fortunate to take my worldly travels (I speak some Japanese via Okinawa, lived in England, grew up in Hawai’i, now calling California my home) into my voice, sharing varied perspectives- keeping it all relevant and fun!

As the consummate optimist, I find a way to turn lemons into lemonade, having lost my job Friday the 13th of March 2009. Since that unfortunate day, I have leveraged my blog, growing it into a leading fashion resource for the fashionably plus size by bringing mainstream fashion to plus size- digesting it and breaking fashion down into relevant bites.

This opportunity will give Huffington Post a refreshed perspective from someone who celebrates “the joy of life and the diversity of cultures.” How? I am an African American woman who: speaks Japanese; knows the Hawaiian state fish; ties the DKNY cozy 10 ways; fashions posts on the latest collection from Jimmy Choo; and c0-leads the social media push for New York’s Full Figured Fashion Week™ via the Curvy Collective.

Coupled along with my education in marketing and 12 years in specialized retail (from Express to Bloomingdales), I bring a fashionably balanced perspective along with an in depth worldview to fashion!

I AM YOUR VIENNA LIFE BALL CORRESPONDENT!

Asides from wanting to go, I do have a close family friend who has AIDS and he is very close to me. Attending this event to help raise a cure for AIDS is extremely near and dear to me! So this would impact my life in more ways than one, as I feel this would give my voice a purpose and value outside plus size plus size fashion!
