Next to denim, what is the second scariest thing for a woman to shop for?
No, not a bra (although we are oft wearing the wrong size) but swimwear is the hardest thing for a woman (of almost every size) to find!
However, with the latest trends of the spring and summer, there is hope- and for the plus size woman, there is even a BETTER chance at finding the look for you! This season’s hottest trends have translated fabulously to the plus size fashionista!  So, tuck away the t-shirts, swim shorts, boxers, and cut-off denim (yes, I said that!) and sashay your curves into the fiercest and most curve friendly swimsuit season yet!
Thanks to some of our fabulous plus size fashion designers, swimwear for the curvy gal is fun and playful!
So what can you expect to see?
- Perfected Polka Dots
A little sweet and playful, polka bots find its way into all swimwear styles. The trick here is the scale of the polka dots, keeping them minimal, and with no more than a three-way color story.
Always for me fashions great options with polka dots.
- Glamour Girl Rouching <- My favorite

I love rouched pieces, you know when a piece of clothing gathers around the curvature of your hips? This is rouching, an oftentimes-strategic method used to camouflage or to minimize the areas we seek to hide. Whether used in a one piece or fierce two piece, most rouching in swimwear will have you thinking you were the leading lady for Mad Men.
- The Cold One Shoulder (I really like this one too!)

Ripped straight from last year’s runways, the one-shoulder trend is going strong again for Summer 2010.  You will find this trend stepping slightly away from the one piece, diving heavily into the two-piece frocks.

- Magnificently Mismatched
Rules were made to be broken, and this summer it is no exception. Whether in a tankini or bikini, the two-piece options have just widened. Â To pull this off, just make sure you stay within the same color story!
- Ruffles Galore
Take a cue from Spring’s lace and feminine trend, ruffles have found its way again into swimwear! Sweet and playful and carefully placed, ruffles can hide, maximize, or minimize your curves!
Thanks to the varied options, you too can flaunt curves! Need to know which designers cater to them? Well, here you go:
I plan to be in the sun, in my suit, working it! I used to only be a fan of the boy short option; however, I have ventured out of my box, and have found some amazing options! I am now in love with the rouched look and the one shoulder fierceness!
Which is your favorite trend?
