Would you don the CLOG?

email

You know, the traditionally wooden Dutch shoes, now updated with variations of leather or cork, clogs are hitting the scene hard for spring, as evidenced during the Chanel Spring/Summer fashion show!

Would you don the clog

So I am on the fence, although this fancy design right here is calling me, but for the most part, I am on the fence.  I tried once. I have a pair of clogs from Cole Haan, that I would wear with my slacks, fashioned completely against the way we see it for spring…

Did you know this about clogs?

  • Factory workers across Europe wore wooden clogs because the wood was readily available
  • During the Industrial Revolution in Europe, rebellious factory workers chucked their clogs into the machinery to stop production during labor strikes
  • The curvature of the interior base of the clog provides support for feet and legs
  • Nurses, doctors and medical assistants, have embraced the clog as their shoe of choice

So, I ask you again, Would you don the clog?

I have a weird bone in the back of my feet that keeps me wearing really simple shoes, clogs, and sneakers. I love clogs and am excited about their return so I can stock up. :)

No clogs for me! I do admit some of the new styles are way cuter than before. But back in the 90′s in HS I remember the 70s hippie look making a come back and those darn clogs were every where. I just can’t stand the noise they make when you walk in them and they are not too comfortable. So this season I will pass! Maybe one day I will have a pair….LOL

This is a profound question. I personally have never owned a pair of clogs, but I love shoes with a thick heel because I walk everywhere. Walking in a shoe with a thick heel is more comfortable and it also creates a cleaner line on the leg–if your legs are not supper skinny, which mine are not. Perhaps this will be the Spring that I cave in and buy some clogs!
