Beth Ditto in Birthday Suit
Our favorite confident plus size fashion heroine, Beth Ditto is on another fashion mission and making quite a few waves. Down under, in Sydney, fashion label Birthday Suit has chosen Miss Ditto as the “Body†of its new label.
According to the Daily Telegraph:
Beth Ditto is the poster girl for plus-size confidence and now she has become the body of emerging Sydney fashion label Birthday Suit.
The label’s designers – all-girl performance group The Kingpins – met Ditto in Paris in 2008 and instantly hit it off.
The label has been supplying many of The Gossip frontwoman’s radical on-stage outfits.
“When The Kingpins desired to move into fashion Beth was the person we imagined working with,” artist and designer Techa Noble tells us.
So what is this label, Birthday Suit?

Sydney label Birthday Suit is not for the faint-hearted. The designers have reached new heights of imaginative possibility with their kitsch, sci-fi inspired Winter 2010 collection, entitled ‘Smoke and Mirrors’. An exhilarating mish-mash of allusions, textures and shapes, Birthday Suit’s designs speak to those bored with the prosaic. From richly hued bustiers to skin tight jumpsuits,  Birthday Suit’s clothes trepidatiously tread the line between statement pieces and costume wear, projecting a future of theatrical and exuberant attire.
After reading this clip, I would say this marriage is rightfully matched! Birthday Suit does not have much on their website, however, once more information is made available, I will bring it to you!
