A reintroduction of Marie Denee… The Curvy Fashionista
Where does one start and how long could I go on?
I have come a full year into blogging, sharing, exposing, unearthing, revealing, and so on about plus size fashion, and I have realized, that, unless you venture over to Facebook or Twitter, you probably do not know much about me….
To kick off the NEW YEAR, I decided that I would share more of myself, the thoughts, quirks, irritants, and joys that make me think how I do!
Well, to give you more insight on who I am, as Marie, here are 25 quick things about me:
- I speak Japanese- no really!
- I have grown up in Japan, England, Hawaii, Virginia, and eventually in California- now residing in Oakland, Ca.
- I finished high school at 16, finished my Bachelors at age 24, and my MBA when I was 26- YET, I think I want to go back to school- I am a bit of a nerd.
- I am terrified of public speaking (but I do it anyway)
- I am a beautiful piece of work in the making… I can be a handful at times (thank God for my FRIENDS!)
- I am a Virgo- 09.09.
- I was a girl scout all through elementary through junior high school! (What do you know about the pledge?)
- I absolutely LOVE EXCEL! – told you I was a nerd!
- I have the strongest affinity for words… I love learning new ones…
- I had a dream when I was 12 owning my boutique. Locking up the doors, with child, rockin a lime green tunic… hmmm (do you think it is coming to pass?)
- I was a cheerleader from the age of 10 or 11 up through junior college! (Had my few seconds of fame on ESPN!)
- I am gonna be an auntie this year in late April/ early May! Lil Noah Elijah! Geeked!
- I am such a fabric snob- and as I get older, it bothers me even more… natural fabrics please…
- I am extremely particular to shop for. My mom solicits wishlists from me annually… or defaults to giftcards…
- I am the quintessential romantic… I have been banned from watching the mushy love movies by my girls… lol
- I am never satisfied with myself- I always feel I could do and be better- even if it is good… (Can be both good and bad!)
- I sleep on my couch- ‘cause I HAVE to fall asleep to TV- Bad Habit…
- Fashion is my extreme passion- BUT I love analyzing the why and who of everything… maybe in another life, I was an analyst of some sorts…
- I love water, the beach, the lake, and maybe that is why I live by one now! LOL… so calming and relaxing…
- I can cut a rug… I swear on the dance floor I morph into Beyonce… hahahaha… or Sasha Fierce…
- My favorite flower is the Stargazer Lily
- My two ultimate favorite movies are Ever After (the Cinderella Story) and Love Jones! Told you I was a hopeless romantic
- Writing these are kind of fun, but beginning to think I am quite boring… lol… as I struggle for the last two
- I often come off as serious or shy, but I am quite the opposite- goofy and funny, I just gotta get comfy
- I have never fantasized my wedding or my future husband or kids- although every once in a while, I DO think of the dress…
