Plus size mag, Gemini presents Curvy Women for Pink

As a woman (or man), you should know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. However, do you know how we arrived here, with this month of awareness?

This month marks the 25th year anniversary of the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) organization. Created as a partnership of national public service organizations, professional medical associations, and government agencies, the NBCAM “works together to promote breast cancer awareness, share information on the disease, and provide greater access to screening services.”

Joining the cause, plus size magazine, Gemini, is joining this “Fight for a Cure.” Through the collaboration with blogger Kawana Dicks, of Adore My Curves, they brainstormed and created the “Gemini” and “Curvy Women for Pink” T-shirts to support the movement.

Each T-Shirt costs $20 and runs up to a size 3X. To purchase your shirt and show support, please visit Gemini Magazine or Adore My Curves.

Remember, not only this month, but once a month, take charge of your own breast health by practicing regular self-breast exams to identify any changes, schedule regular visits and annual mammograms with your doctor, and educate yourself about Breast Cancer.

To find out more about Breast Cancer Awareness, please visit NBCAM. To purchase your tee, please visit Gemini Magazine.
