Renowned and fabulous “modern size†fashion designer, Gayla Bentley appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank! If you do not know the concept of Shark Tank, imagine the chance to raise capital for whatever business proposal you choose, to present to the panel of judges.
But there is a catch.
These judges are not the types who just want to put their money someone. These judges cut through all the fluff, crunch the numbers, challenge your concepts, and question your business’s viability. Basically, if you do not know your stuff, they will sniff it out and eat you (or each other if they love you) alive.
As ABC put it, “A word of advice: be strong. Sharks can smell fear.â€
Seeking capital for her flagship location, Gayla Bentley charmed, with a commanding presence and fashion authority, her way into real estate investor, Barbara Corocan’s and FUBU fashion owner, Daymond John’s hearts (Pocketbooks) walking away with her necessary capital for her venture!
They were tough on her, and it was interesting to see how the judges were either completely clueless about the discrepancies of plus size in the fashion world or were too afraid to know the business ventures to be had with Miss Gayla!
What makes me so excited and feel so honored, is that I am able to carry and showcase Gayla Bentley in Marie Denee! Her looks are featured in our look book, and they hug the curves just right.
