Earlier this year, Cassy McBryde Jones and Stephanie Danforth were introduced as a part of Full Figured Fashion Week, as a “State of the Curvy Community” panelist and a member of the Curvy Collective respectfully. But what you may not know is what has defined them as mavens in the field of Plus Size!
Both ladies are integral in bringing Detroit the third annual Fuller Woman Expo with Cassy as the U.S. Director of the Expo and Stephanie as the Assistant Director!

THE FULLER WOMAN EXPO, THE LARGEST INTERNATIONAL EVENT DEDICATED TO CURVIER WOMEN WILL TAKE PLACE AT HOTEL ST. REGIS IN DETROIT, MI ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2009
Detroit, MI, August 19, 2009 ~ The Fuller Woman Expo is the largest international event dedicated to Curvier Women. Scheduled to take place on September 19, 2009 from 10 am- 8pm the Fuller Woman Expo offers a day full of empowerment while celebrating women’s courage, confidence and curves. Originally, scheduled to take place at COBO Hall, the large response to the Fuller Woman Expo has prompted a move to the contemporary yet classic, Hotel St. Regis in Detroit, MI.
The 3rd International Fuller Woman Expo will feature exhibits and workshops catering to women’s fashion, beauty, health, fitness, home, careers, financial planning, education and much more! Plus, appearances by major industry celebrities, an outstanding line up of premium speakers, fashion shows, free samples and prize giveaways. A portion of this year’s proceeds will be donated to S.A.F.E. (Sisters Acquiring Financial Empowerment).
During show hours, the event will host 3 workshops that includes a Foundation Garment Workshop presented by Jennene Biggins of Voluptuous Woman Company, Fit, Fun & Fantasy exercise techniques courtesy of Danielle Green of Vixen Fitness and Modeling 101 hosted by Plus Model, Mia Amber. This year’s keynote speaker is Life Coach, Delores Pressley.
In addition to the workshops taking place throughout the day, The Fuller Woman Expo-Detroit is proud to introduce a panel discussion entitled “Evolution of the Curvy Revolution”. The panel discussion will be led by Karen Love, Chief Operating Officer Michigan Chronicle/Publisher, Michigan FrontPage. The panel speakers will include the following:
- The Plight of Plus Modeling ~ GWENDOLYN DEVOE, CEO and Founder of the Plus Model Academy of New York, DeVoe Signature Events and the Executive Producer of “Full Figured Fashion Week”

The day will end with a full scale fashion showcase “Curves in Motion” sponsored by Lane Bryant Outlet-offering some of the best in fashion and entertainment from across the country to put you in a “curvy state of mind”.
