Just when the media would have you to believe that plus-size fashion is dwindling, contemporary designers are delivering plus size lines that deliver on both fit and fashion! Welcome the line T-Bags Los Angeles.
T-Bags is not a new line, but their expansion into plus sizes is, and what a lovely collection and point of view they bring. Started in 2001 as a handbag line, designers Shadi and Su-Lyn, met while completing post-graduate degrees at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.
The creative vision of two young designers epitomizes sexy, sophisticated and instinctive style. Exhilarating free-flowing signature prints and bold solids are alluringly pulsed by flavors of bohemian chic and vintage charm; reflecting the inventiveness, personality, and wit that drives each collection.
Recognizing the gap of affordable, creative, and inspirational fashion, the two women began transforming vintage fabrics, suede, and upholstery into stylish, chic, and distinctive handbags. T- Bags quickly evolved into a clothing line that still reflects their original mission.
“It was a natural progression,†says Su-Lyn. “We were using all sorts of vintage fabrics and giving them a contemporary edge through the use of modern silhouettes. The idea of draping, shape, and pattern translated easily into a fresh and modern collection of pieces that easily went from day to night.â€
