Cookie Johnson debuts her line for Real Women

CJ by Cookie JohnsonI was over perusing Denimology, and to my surprise, I read that Cookie Johnson, Magic Johnson’s wife, has started her own premium denim line, CJ by Cookie Jonson. Aimed for women with real curves, her line goes up to a size 18 and is carried only at Nordstroms. Please read on to gain more insight into her new brand!

Cookie Johnson, wife of sports legend and community philanthropist Magic Johnson, is adding an all-star entrepreneur to her resume with the debut of her new denim line Cj by Cookie Johnson. She has chosen to partner with denim legend Michael Glasser, founder of 7 for All Mankind jeans and current owner of Rich and Skinny.

An avid shopper who could afford to buy any fashion line – Cookie watched the denim market for years, frustrated that there wasn’t anything that fit her well. After hoping someone would get it right, she decided she would fill the void herself. Cookie Johnson graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors in Retail, Clothing and Textiles and worked in the industry for seven years. Now she has released her line, CJ by Cookie Johnson, which is designed for women with real curves. Priced at $145 to $196 a pair, this collection features clean lines that work on any woman. I especially like their boyfriend jean with a darker wash than we are used to seeing!

You can find CJ by Cookie Johnson at Nordstrom.

Why is it that jeans have to cost soooo much! For something that is supposed to be weekend and casual wear we are starting to pay an awful lot for denim. So now, not only can we not find our size we can't find jeans that we can afford. It almost makes me hate shopping now. Thanks Cookie great idea but you didn't help the situation.
