Never had I watched a trailer and almost been put to tears or moved. Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry bring us ‘Precious’ based on the novel “Push†by Sapphire.
Starring Mo’Nique, Paula Patton, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz and breakout actress, Gabourey Sidibe, ‘Precious’ debuts November 6, 2009.
‘Precious’ is set in Harlem, following the life of Claireece “Precious†Jones (Gabourey Sidibe), a sixteen-year-old African-American girl born into a life no one would want. Pregnant for the second time by her absent father and degredated to her emotionally and physically abusive mother’s (Mo’Nique) desires and wishes, “Precious” endures and perseveres through life in this gut wrenching and emotionally charged film.
