Keeping it Curvy in the Bay

Memorial day, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Oaklandâ€™s premier plus size community organizer, Miss Tigress of Full Figure Entertainment. She invited me to a photo shoot, and shared the beginnings of Full Figure Entertainment and why it was created.

Tigress, native to the bay, is no stranger to the BBW scene. Wanting to bring a little bit more to the lounge scene, Tigress embarked upon creating a scene at a nightclub that brought her own flare, fashion, and confidence to the scene, thus Full Figure Entertainment was born.

Full Figure Entertainment launched in the spring of 2008 with a fundraiser for one of our favorite charities, The Princess Project. With a commitment to bring the Bay Area some of the hottest parties, Full Figure Entertainment brings the Curvy.Confident.Chic. fashionista in the Bay a night where her curves are celebrated and welcomed every first Friday of the month at Club Anton in Jack London Square.

But Full Figure Entertainment is more than just a big girl club. Full Figure Entertainment raises the bar for the BBW nightlife and community here in the bay. Through nonprofit partnership with The Princess Project, Full Figure Entertainment reaches out to young full figured teens to provide free prom dresses to those in need. In addition to their community outreach, Full Figure Entertainment maintains a set of values to empower, uplift, and strengthen the community.

Our Values:
Full Figure Entertainment strives to create drama-free nightlife experiences.
We will treat our patrons with respect and we expect that they treat each other, our staff, and venue staff with respect. We will make every possible effort to attract classy, mature, open-minded clientele who will be welcoming to people of all backgrounds. Anyone causing a problem will be removed by venue security and restricted from further entrance to our events.

Full Figure Entertainment supports body diversity.
Our events are designed with full bodied women in mind, but ALL BODY SIZES AND SHAPES ARE WELCOME. We do not condone size-hating of any type. We are fat-positive, but we are not thin-negative.

Full Figure Entertainment supports cultural diversity.
We make no apologies for doing targeted outreach to communities of color, but ALL COLORS ARE WELCOME at our events.

Full Figure Entertainment supports the LGBTQ community.
When we say “Full bodied ladies and their fans,” we know that heterosexual men are not the only fans and friends of women of size. ALL SEXUAL ORIENTATIONS ARE WELCOME at our events.

Full Figure Entertainment supports community causes.
We commit to hosting at least one event per year to benefit a non-profit group that does work in the Oakland community.

Full Figure Entertainment supports body positive events, socializing, and activism.
We are primarily a party promotion company, but we believe in community building and will engage in practices that support body-positive attitudes, size acceptance, self-love and diversity of all types. We are happy to direct our customers to other organizations that support these values and beliefs
