Hello ladies,
Were you watching the Grammy’s on Sunday? Well you know I was… searching the red carpet for the Curvy fashionistas, and guess who I found? Jennifer Hudson, Adele, and Jazmine Sullivan! All winners in my eyes- asides from the Grammy that some of them took home. While I highlight these three divas, I must give curvy honorable mentions to Leona Lewis, Queen Latifah and Jordin Sparks.
What I did find frustrating was the lack of coverage I could find about them in pictures and in the fashion run down! With the major awards that these ladies took home, why is there more coverage about these curvy fashionistas? If you look at the taglines to many of the pictures, it is very ho hum at best with the best catch phrase going to Jennifer Hudson showing a “bit of sass.†Really? Was that all they could say?
Well, as I try to find and scour who they wore for music’s biggest night (and I will) please enjoy as I share with you the breathtaking Curvy.Confident.Chic. songstresses who dazzled the red carpet.
No stranger to the Red Carpet is a true fashionista, Jennifer Hudson. With such awards as the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, Jennifer Hudson scores another award to her trophy case with Sunday’s Grammy win for Best R&B Album entitled “Jennifer Hudson.â€
As we have seen her on the red carpet, we must give her respect for always stepping out in refreshingly new or bold choices. While not all of her looks were the greatest, I always admire her confidence and style she oozes as she graces the red carpets.
New Artist of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Adele, has been making waves not only in the Music world, but amongst the fashion world as well. As noted in a previous post, Adele will be featured in next month’s Vogue magazine! Not only will she be in Vogue, but also the all mighty Anna Wintour styled her for the red carpet at the Grammy’s!
Adele’s laid back demeanor and bold fashion choices definitely make her a fashionista with amazing vocals to watch! I know I will be the first one to grab that Vogue issue! At the tender age of 19, I look forward to seeing much much more of this fashionista in the making!
Did you know that Jazmine Sullivan has been in the industry since the ripe age of 15? After her debut on Showtime at the Apollo, Jazmine was signed to JIVE records at a tender age of 15. “Need you Bad†and “Bust your Windows†captured the ears of many, earning her six nominations!
Although she went home empty handed, we will keep our eye on this newcomer to the fashion and music scene to wow us. Congrats to you- Jazmine!
My Curvy Fashionistas, please stay tuned as I recap what they were wearing and how you can get your hands on these amazing fashions!
