Beth Ditto and Evans- Signed, Sealed, Delivered

email

Although I am a little late in bringing this story to you, I find that I must report all breaking fashion news to you! So as I was perusing the UK edition of Vogue, I was pleasantly amused to see that they have confirmed (no longer rumored) that the plus size rock chick Beth Ditto will design a capsule collection (Think Go International for Target) but for Evans- a European retailer specializing in plus sizes!
According to Vogue UK, the plus size collection will launch in July “promising to add a touch of glam rock to the brand’s conservative appeal, the capsule collection has a strong Eighties feel and will consist of clothing, accessories and shoes. Casual and formal pieces feature embellished graphic designs, while oversized knitwear, draped jersey tops and dresses are inspired by vintage pieces sourced by Ditto, who worked closely with Evans head of design – Lisa Marie Peacock – in developing the range, which, come the summer, is sure to be a hit with the brand’s curvaceous target market.”
While all details are under lock and key, please know that once the line launches, I will be front and center- sharing with you the amazing Curvy.Confident.Chic. finds for every inch of your curves!

And for all of you who do not know who Beth Ditto is and why she was chosen for collaboration? Beth Ditto is and has been an advocate for Plus size women, especially when it comes to fashion. This Curvy and Confident lead singer of The Gossip thinks the fashion industry is biased towards thinner women and does not cater for larger ladies (Very true).

Recently quoted in Female First, A UK magazine, Beth Ditto lashes out at the fashion world saying, “I love fashion, but it’s just not fair. Here’s the deal: Fashion should be for everyone…”Fashion is one thing – I love style. Those are two different things. I think fashion is a product that can be bought and sold and is made for you, and style is something that you get up and you do it to yourself every morning. Fashion is a product, but style is a way of life. You can’t buy style, it’s an instinct.”

Beth Ditto, You are indeed Curvy.Confident.Chic. Keep it up!

Keep it Curvy!

This is awesome! I’m so glad that she is doing a line for them! She has such an incredible voice and an unusual taste in fashion so it should be good. It’s great to see women who aren’t a size 2 in the media (for once).

I had heard Beth Ditto was working on a line.

As I’m familiar with her, I’m not quite sure what to say other than that. I guess I’ll say any time there’s more plus size choice, it’s a good thing.
