Hello my Curvy.Confident.Chic. Fashionistas,
So last night, were you watching the Oscars? I must say that they were much more interesting than ever before and very entertaining. The fashion was all over the place with many clear winners and unfortunately some WTF disasters (Sophia Loren- Love you but why?). There were clearly many trends that I saw that were right from the Spring trends I highlighted in a previous post , and it was lovely!
There were not too many Curvy.Confident.Chic. Fashionistas on the Red Carpet, so I will highlight not only the Queen (Latifah to be exact) but other ladies who graced us with their normalcy and fabulosity.
No stranger to this designer, Queen Latifah fashioned a crystal-embellished navy one-shoulder gown by Georges Chakra. This designer also clothed the stunning Helen Mirren for last year’s Oscars and Tyra Banks for the 2008 BET Awards.
Best supporting actress nominee Viola Davis donned Reem Akra. This designer is definitely another curvy lady favorite. Leona Lewis, Beyonce, Angelina Joile (while pregnant), and Halle Berry have all sashayed down the red carpet wearing this designer.
Best supporting actress nominee Taraji P. Henson fashioned a white tiered gown by Roberto Cavalli. She looks mesmerizing.
Alicia Keys entered in with a lilac Armani Prive gown. Very interesting choice, beautiful, but I am questioning her hair!
Virginia Madsen is no stranger to this designer, wearing a red one-shoulder gown by Kevan Hall! She has worn Kevan Hall to the 2006 Emmy’s. Score one for the African American Designer. Vanessa Williams wore him to the 2007 Emmys and Tina Fey to the 2007 Golden Globes.

Meryl Streep fancied a gray off-the-shoulder gown by Alberta Ferretti. I do wish the color was a bit stronger.
Kate Winslet on the red carpet. Her dress is Atelier Yves Saint Laurent by Stefano Pilati. I am still trying to figure if I like it or not.
Well ladies, I hope you enjoyed these lovely pics and if you did not get a chance to watch the Oscars (quite enjoyable for once) you must visit Oscars.com (I must thank them for the amazing pictures!)
Please share your thoughts on the fashion, I would love to hear from you!
